Management of a prolactinoma patient with manifestations of amenorrhea and infertility

Prolactinoma is an adenoma arising from the lactotroph cells of pituitary gland that secrete prolactin. It considered most commonly diagnosed tumor and accounts for about 40% all tumors. This study discusses a female patient suffering prolactinoma with manifestations amenorrhea infertility. According to MRI examination, had signs apoplexy measuring ± 2.7 x 1.5 1.9 cm in intrasellar, extending suprasellar. On other hand, examination indicated prolactin serum level was > 200 ng/ml (increased). The consulted neurosurgeon consideration surgery due large size prolactinoma, but temporarily refused surgery.
